Cao Yuanzheng joined the Bank of China in 1998 and currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Economist of BOC International Holdings Limited. He is a member of the China Economic 50 Forum, an economic think tank composed of China’s top fifty economists. Previously, Mr. Cao had a distinguished career at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), where he was Executive Vice President of the Economic System Reform Research Institute of the National Commission for Economic Reform. In this capacity, he was heavily involved in China's economic system reform and macroeconomic policy formulation, along with conducting extensive theoretical research in the relevant fields. Additionally, Mr. Cao was an economic expert for the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme. He is a doctoral supervisor of Chinese People's University and an adjunct professor of Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University.
